In this weeks blog I thought I would share a few images I did of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge and ex prima ballerina Darcey Bussells. With ‘Strictly’ being the biggest rating tv programme in Britain at the moment – it seems only suitable to bring you these images of her flying high on a london roof top.

I love this job. I have said it many times before, but I really, really do. As a photographer I sometimes get to go to the most wonderful places..and on wednesday the 4th of September I found myself wandering what used to be Princess Diana’s private garden pinching myself that I WAS INSIDE KENSINGTON PALACE!!
You magazine had commissioned me to take some portraits of The Princess Michael of Kent who is releasing her novel ‘The Queen of Four Kingdom’s’ this week . What an honour. We had a few wonderful hours with Her Royal Highness who was aboslutely not interested in being styled by anyone but herself(respect!) She also did her own hair and makeup. I didn’t get all my Mam’s right (has to rhyme with spam) but she was very relaxed and did not seem to mind.
This is my favourite picture from the shoot.

It seems 2 month have slipped by without any blog updates from me. I can only blame the arrival of summer and the fact that I got off the crazy busy train for a while..lovely…
One of the big hits of the summer was ‘Slip’ by the very cool ‘Stooshe’ girls. These stripped back portraits, shot for their album sleeve, show a different side to the girls who we are used to seeing in a mashup of bright colours.
Hope you like them.

I have worked with Davina for over 4 years now. There is a reason she is a household name – she is, in real life, exactly what you might hope for – funny, charming, not in the slightest bit vain or insecure about her looks (which makes photographing her a dream) and is the sort of person who simply makes everyone around her feel good.
So with that in mind, it is makes sense that L’Oreal would choose her to be the face of Garnier Nutrisse. In fact, the relationship has worked so well that they are now celebrating 10 years together…and the wonderful thing for me..is that I got to shoot the ad.
It was amazing to be part of the preproduction meeting in a packed boardroom at the L’Oreal building headquarters, and having the realisation that this was the kind of thing I dreamt I might one day do when I started my journey as a photographer.

Happy 2013! So exciting. New Year..new possibilities.
With that in mind I thought I’d mention a shoot I did for Wired Magazine with Lily Cole. Not only is she a supermodel and Cambridge graduate..but she is starting an online community called Impossible.com. A website where you can trade skills..or simply help someone if you fancy. It’s like a new currency with added feel-good factor. I think the world of 2013 might be ready for something like that. Hope it takes off. It should be launching soon.
You can read more about it here at Wired Magazine.
Have had a lovely break and am now pleased to be back. I also have some exciting news. I have a new agent!
I am now represented by A&R Photographic – a fabulous agency that I greatly respect run by two lovely ladies called Anita and Rosie. So for any new work enquiries – please call them!
Lets get 2013 started!
