MODERN DILEMMA
MODERN DILEMMA
NAVIGATING BEAUTY IN THE AGE OF TRANSFORMATION
Today, being ‘beautiful’ is available to everyone. We are the ‘selfie’ generation who has the power to change the nose we don’t like, or buy a straight set of white teeth.
The question is: what is beauty? Could it be an elusive quality that cannot be pinned down? Our faces change over the years, and our beauty evolves. We grow into ourselves. We realise that the parts of us we once thought were odd or didn’t like, now somehow fit perfectly. What happens when we erase those unique characteristics before learning to love them, because we wanted to conform to a beauty trend that has now been and gone?
Will we one day wake up and wonder who we are?
A modern dilemma: searching for ourselves while trying to look like everyone else.
